Omeath murals vandalised

Murals on the Cooley Peninsula that tell the story of the local area were recently vandalised with graffiti, prompting anger from community groups. Residents and local volunteers helped clean the murals shortly afterwards.

Rostrevor children’s choir to perform at London’s St Patrick’s Day Festival

Young singers from Rostrevor’s Cór na nÓg Caisleán Ruairí will travel to London to perform as part of the city’s St Patrick’s Day celebrations, including an appearance in Trafalgar Square. The choir includes around 45 children aged between 7 and 14.

Road closed after lorry blocks Mournes route

A section of road near Spelga Dam at Hilltown was closed after a lorry blocked the route at a difficult bend. Drivers were advised to use alternative routes while the incident was dealt with.

Louth businesses recognised at Irish Restaurant Awards

Several businesses and staff from County Louth were recognised at the Irish Restaurant Awards, including chef Mark Gormley of The Clermont and Kate Traynor of Carlingford Brewing Company, who received an Employee Excellence award.
